1. Wedding Planner Rebecca from Rebecca Marie Weddings

“Setting a budget and breaking that down at the start of your wedding planning journey is the most important piece of advice I can give couples that are just starting to plan their special celebration - Being transparent and communicating that budget with potential suppliers will help with staying on track.”

3. Photographer Rebecca from Rebecca Carpenter Photography

“Always book the photographer of your dreams. Don’t settle and let it come solely down to price. Choose the one that speaks to you through their work and their personality. Photography is an investment and is ultimately part of your wedding legacy.”

4. Videographer David from Wedding Films by David James

“Film is so different to photography - Be sure to watch lots of different wedding films by lots of different videographers as style can vary so drastically. Be aware as to how the videos make you feel and if you find yourself feeling emotional or invested in the couple’s story then you are likely on the right track to finding the right person, or at least the style of film you gravitate towards. Bear in mind that different styles require different levels of equipment - Do you want a videographer who is discreet or right in the middle of the action?”

5. Florist Emma from Emma Cox Floristry

“Think about the season you are getting married in, does this suit the kind of colours and styling you want for your day? For example, it is much more difficult sourcing burnt orange tones in May.”

6. Dress Boutique Owner Kerry from Ivy & White

“Shop within a 9 - 10 month time frame - The perfect amount of time to browse and see what is on trend and available for your wedding date. Give yourself a month to browse and do any re-try’s and don’t start too early so to avoid feeling overwhelmed or swamped with too many options. Only purchase when you are ready and take the same people with you to all fittings so they know the other options too!”

“Don’t be afraid to push boundaries, be bold and do something different - Step away from the traditional look.”

9. Stationer Carolyn from Gray Starling Designs

10. Furniture Hire Co. Owner Ginny from Virginia’s Vintage Hire

"As our commitment to sustainability grows, we will see more events incorporating, vintage, refurbished or antique furniture and decor. Well-loved original items, or classic heritage pieces are beautiful and practical without having a harmful impact on the planet. Adding in a few luxurious elements such as rich fabrics and statement lighting help to keep the look balanced and up to date.”

Staying local means you can support small businesses and work with suppliers who align with your values. From organic farmers, florists who work with UK-grown, seasonal flowers, small vineyards, and field-to-fork caterers, most regions are blooming with talented suppliers. By choosing local you are helping to reduce your event’s environmental impact and putting money back into the local economy

11. Hair Stylist April from April Natalie Hair

“Always have a hair trial where possible; gather a moodboard of styles that you like (max 4 - 5) and let your stylist know what you do and don’t love about each style. At your trial do not be shy, communicate anything you are unsure about and the parts you love - Give your stylist your honest opinion as this will help achieve your desired look for your big day.”

12. MUA Amy from Amy Rose

13. Veil Designer Heather from Sash & Veil

“Always try a veil, even if you’re sure you don’t want one – I often hear from brides who’ve been adamant they’re not going to wear a veil and then they try one and they can’t imagine not having one! However, if you’ve tried a veil and it’s really not for you, there are alternatives such as bridal wings, capes and so many more!”

14. Drink Providers Fizzy Pheasant

“I have a top tip for each part of your wedding day when it comes to drinks!! Pre-ceremony welcome drinks (especially if outdoors in hot weather) are a great idea and seem to stop the awkward moments between arrival and ceremony. Consider offering more than one drink post ceremony as that is not usually enough and never forget a good non-alcoholic option. When it comes to wine; white and rose is always more popular than red and 1/2 a bottle per person is historically more than enough. Make toasts more exciting with shots or a fancy non-alcoholic option for children and guests that are not drinking.”

15. Entertainment Provider Six15

“Remember that the style of entertainment you choose can affect the entire vibe of your wedding night - Consider your guests’ when choosing entertainment not just what music you both enjoy listening to.”
